advice regarding clutch and brakes

A clutch wont "break" in normal driving and will give you plenty of warning by slipping under load if its going to fail. In nearly 40 yrs of car ownership Ive only needed to replace a clutch once (and that was in my boy racer days), the last car I sold had done 170,000 miles with the original clutch still working fine. Just make sure its properly adjusted (a 5 minute job)
As to Warranty, normal consumer laws dont seem to apply to garages :lol: so you really must go on recommendation/reputation

If the king pin has gone like Basketcase said it will look like this

The garage can do those at the same time they do the brakes so shouldn't charge much more to do it
