This is what i've done with mine (border collie for scale :lol: )
I started with a base of 18mm ply and a rubber mat, and then added the storage/tool box also built of ply and dog guard. Before hand I hadn't the base secured down, but when I added the tool box, I used the 4 bolt holes (which secure the rear seats I think) and 4 110mm M10 fine bolts through box and floor. Mostly because I was worried about the floor coming loose in the event of a roll over etc.
