Key fob for Central locking was created by jimothy
Is there a guide to changing the battery in the remote key fob or is it a straight forward job. I have had a little look but can't see the battery in the remote. I don't want to pull it apart if I'm likely to wreck anything.

If you are talking about this kind of key fob, which locks/unlocks and activates the immobiliser, there is a small phillips screw on the back and 2 batteries inside. If, after changing the batteries, it no longer works, then the instructions are in the owners manual for re-setting the code. It only takes about 5 minutes and is fairly straight forward. I have posted the instructions a few times.

No mine is the 2 buttons on the key. I Have just seen a link on you tube to changing the battery so I will give it a try.
Central locking is working on the buttons but seems very low range. you have to go right up to the windscreen to make it work.

A hint to improve range... raise the remote device to your head. The head has water in it (Some more than others :p ) and acts as an amplifier/range extender

:woohoo:

I didn't believe this either, but it is true

I can work my locking from the other side of the carpark at work if I hold the fob by my ear, simply holding it up in the air above my head doesn't work.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
