Help, I'm stuck. Power steering woes. was created by Podge
Folks I'm in a spot of bother.
The high pressure power steering pipe fractured from rust at the bolt on the steering box emptying the system in a minute or so. Previous to that there a slow leak.
Thinking it would be relatively simple to fix, a new bit of pipework sure, I proceeded to move it. Predictably someone had tried to remove it in the past to fix the slow leak and partially rounded the bolt. Got it off with a lot of persuasion (heat and percussion  ) in the end, however, the nut in bad shape now. Anyway, its turning out amazingly hard to find this one bolt (and the bit of steel to go with it).
Visited about 5 hydraulic fitters and they cant help me.
Suzuki want 427 euro for it (which includes the entire supply and return system...)
Reluctant to go to a scrapper as they'll all be as difficult to take off and they probably wont sell it seperate to the pipework.
It's the bit highlighted in red. Anyone have something lying about? I'm stuck at this point,

It is not a bolt but a hydraulic union! I am not being picky but if your are searching or asking for something then terminology is key to getting the correct part!
Is it not a brake union size thread? There are handy spanners that I use on difficult connectors like these that grip the union without damaging it. So if you have to revert to the scrappers then that would be the tool to take. If you want I could take a photo of mine and uplift it on this thread if you like. Another alternative would be to contact a steering pump specialist. My LDV van had the same problem of the pipe corroding and I got one sent to me by such a company. If you want I could dig out their contact details.

Yea, sorry I went in looking for a union, knew what it was/is! Went to specialised companies looking for a union (Pirtec etc) and they knew what it was but had nothing to fit (odd thread apparently...)
Good call on the steering box/pump specialist. I'll have a google.

Checked all the power steering specialists in 100 mile radius, they don't have any, referring me back to the hydraulic pipework guys.
Off the the scrap yard it seems.
