Has anyone been successful in lifting a jimny 2 inch or greater on standard parts from other vehicles? My mate owns a motor factors and owes me a shed load of favours! Blind old dog spoke about CRV parts in 1 of his threads a while back but some of the part numbers don't match up with Uk spec vehicles.

I wouldn't bother otherwise you will get the Jimny lean, best to use a proper Jimny kit from Jimnybits then you will get springs which will keep your Jimny level. The o/s/f spring needs to be longer.
You will also want castor correction bushes and longer brake hoses.

I wouldn't bother either. The spring rates are calculated for the vehicle, as are the shock rates. So putting springs from a heavier vehicle on will mean the springs are too hard and you'll bounce everywhere as the shocks can't cope.
It's just a recipe for an uncomfortable ride at best or a dangerous disaster at worst.
I know some people have done this type of thing before and been happy with it, however I'd argue they have been happy with it because someone else has done some thinking and worked out what will work properly and suggested it (MK2 Astra shocks on SJ's) or they are happy because of the price difference alone, putting the bad ride to one side as a result.
To my knowledge, there is no well known OE shock from another car to fit the Jimny like the SJ example above.

I have a feeling mine has springs from another vehicle (has a lean spacer on the drivers side), horrible, horrible ride. It's embarrassing slowing for speed bumps as the back end crashes so much!!!!

If you have access to a warehouse full of bits you are in the best position to work something out!
You need to measure the height, diameter, number of coils and coil thickness of springs to calculate the spring rate and lift. The equations are available online. Let us know what you discover!

Exactly.
There's no magic in springs. They're all made from spring steel, so the online calculators are fairly accurate.
So off course it's easier to buy springs made for the Jimny. But It's not impossible to find other suitable springs. As you say diameter, active coils, wire diameter and so on
