Similar issue happened- our rear prop shaft 'snapped' and now driving on in 4x4 on the front one.

With a limited budget how much is your average shaft ? (Excuse me)

~ £300

well after driving about listening to a chink a chink from what I thought was the exhaust, turns out to be the rear prop shaft.
Got it up on stands and had a look see. The front end of the shaft appears to go into a cup which is the part making the sound.
Is this part mendable or do I need a new shaft?

thanks

G'day Mate,
I understand that this post is quite old, but I think i may have the same issue. It's not a constant noise, but appears when accelerating hard or when i let out the clutch whilst slowing down (Engine braking).

Did replacing your prop shaft resolve the issue?

Cheers.

I'd forgotten what standard Jimny rear props are like as I've had the Rocklobster on for so long with the SJ front prop on the back.
