Rattle on acceleration

Hi there, I`m new to this site, so I hope I`m posting in the correct section? Anyway, I have a strange rattle noise when I accelerate in every gear accept 5th and reverse the noise is NOT there when the jimny is parked and engine is revved, I thought it was coming from the transfer box so I fitted another one but it wasn't that All the UJ`s are fine, there`s no heat shields so its not that, the internals of the cat are fine as well, I drained the oil from the gearbox and that was clean (no bits in it) but there was a shard of silver metal stuck to the drain plug magnet, so I have taken the gearbox off the car and opened it up expecting to see a broken or worn bearing or broken or worn teeth but everything looks in mint condition and all turns and moves as it should with no noises or vibrations, I've taken off the clutch and it needs replacing (scratched and worn) but I cant see that making the noise? the thrust release bearing is as it should be as well? Its proper got me has this has anyone else here had anything similar, or got any ideas? thanks (VVT 2005 hardtop)

Wow! That's some pretty comprehensive investigating! Mine does the same, but only in 1st and 2nd at high revs. I wondered if it was a gearbox mount but I haven't looked yet.

You've ruled out most of the major things so it can't be anything too bad!

The only thing I can do now is put a new clutch kit on and put it all back together again If the noise is still there all I can do is drive it till something breaks? I`m ready for burning it haha

Question mate do you have transfer box guard on your car I have one on mine and since I did I had rattled in 1st taking of and some times second taking off so could be that if you have one that is

Ye, i have a transferbox guard but the rattle is there with the guard off aswell, all the transferbox mounts are good aswell as the transferbox bushes, i'm going to give it a good going over again today before it all goes back together, fingers crossed i find something?

Like Busta mine has the rattle in 1st and 2nd, particularly when starting away. I've also noticed that there is a judder if I start away with the steering turned, but like Busta, haven't got round to checking the gear box mounts yet.
