Option 1: start stripping the whole drivetrain down inspecting everything for wear.
Option 2: drive it untill something breaks then fix it.
Option 3: take it up with the dealer again (best option as its in warranty).

Thanks!
Option 3 seams reasonable. But, my dealer has no idea what this could be. Seams to me they are eirher ignorant or they don't give a damn. Tried to find an answer on my own and by doing so I saw some posts on different forums, but mostly that was about 3-10 years old cars. Some of them seamed to have very similar noise problems, but I could not find a single post with some solution.

Toma wrote: This could be the same as the noise I'm getting. I've traced it down to the drivers side front locking hub. When in 2WD it sometimes try's to engage the locking hub. If I switch to 4WD the noise goes away and I can select 2WD again. It might not make the noise for days and days then do it twice in 10 mins!
Anyway next time it happens open the window and stick you head out then it's easy to tell if it's coming from the front hubs. Also try jacking it up and see if the front hubs lock in.
If you find a cure let me know as I'm not sure where to look next, not sure if it's a hub issue, vac issue or switch problem.
And for how long do you have this noise problem?
What did you do about it? Have you noticed any other isdue or failure?

sur5a wrote: i agree with toms,I've had the same issue intermittently on my 2013 jimmy from the passenger side wheel, exactly same symptoms and strategy to stop it.Look near ,under the battery ,there is a small inlet for the vacuum hubs with a bit of foam on it,sometimes mud can block it and upset the vacuum hubs, check your vac lines for kinks ,option ,manual hubs .

Thank you! I'll try checking everything I can, but there are things I am not allowed to touch, or I might spoil my warranty. But I will remember your words and remind my dealer to have a look. Since you say you faced the same problems with jimny 2013, I have to ask, was this helpful to you? Have you this grinding noise even now, or it's gone?
Thanks once again. Regards,
Mirko.
