There are lots of Jimnys with only one key. I was told by a Suzuki agent when I asked about getting a second key not to buy a Jimny that has only one key. Why do they always seem to come with only one key when bought used?

I think they only came with one key at new years ago and a spare was extra. Many people decided not to pay the £1m for a spare and took their chances.

Nowadays it's less than £50 for a non remote spare at a locksmith or key cutter.

There is a test socket for the immobiliser that works in the same way as the Check Engine Light except you don't need a jumper and you have to provide your own bulb. Find the connector, plug in a bulb/LED with resistor and count the flashes. You may need to download the FSM.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
