Jimny wont start immobiliser ? was created by j44kck
I wont bore you,
the car worked then it didn't.
I've subsequently checked fuel and spark.
Fuelling is fine. spark is fine. and put new plugs in for good measure.
The Amber locked symbol stays illuminated when I turn the car over. but to be honest its never a sequence I've payed attention to prior to the fault.
I've pull the steering column shroud off and the sensor ring behind is fine.
Is there a way around the imobiliser?
Or is there something i'm overlooking.
Thanks in advance!
Jack

are you using the same key with which it originally worked or are you now using a different key this time ?

There isn't a permanent way round the immobiliser. The immo light won't usually go out until the car has started and should flash if there is a fault. I've been doing a lot of work on the early Jimny ECU and it doesn't always show a fault, you need to pull codes from the immo, either manually or using a scan tool.

Morning all.
Sorry been busy this weekend.
Regarding the key's no. i've only ever had one key.
The only thing it could be that i had the screen replaced prior and it had only done one start after that.
Could it be that something has been disturbed in the changing of the screen?
The lock symbol is steadily illuminated it does not flash so denote a fault.
I've scanned the ecu too and again no faults.
Was hoping there was a way to work around the ecu or remove it all together.

You need to scan the immo for faults rather than the ECU - you can check them manually as well using an LED or a voltmeter in the monitor coupler. Have you jump started it lately or disconnected the battery?
