Turned out the exhaust had snapped in two right by the cat!! All the local exhaust places wanted £300 to replace, I was tempted with an eBay cheapie but instead got a local garage to weld it for £25. Apparently was an easy repair so worth doing if you find yourself in the same boat!

yeah thats what happened to mine last year, quick weld and its been fine ever since
