To add to my problems I believe my kingpin have give up does the knock and wobble, could this be linked to the binding brake ? Also found a jimny in a local scrapyard can grab a caliper of that ( hoping its the same type). Where can I order a king pin repair set the other side as been done recently ?

P.s where can I get a jack to reach my jimny with a 2"lift ?

The BJ shop sells the KP kits.

Try under the radius arm, directly inline with radius arm bolt that goes through the chassis mount. This is load bearing and will be fine. Then stick an axle stand under the chassis for safety.

You don't jack the body.
As said something solid on the suspension or under the outer end of the axle but make sure you use an axle stand for safety as you will be pushing/pulling etc. so don't use bricks :)

regarding the brakes, i think seizing sliders are the main culprit and the tubes the sliders run in will need a proper clean out too . but have you checked the piston seal for damage/ splits. any crap getting on the piston will cause pitting / rusting and impair the movement of the piston. i found nothing less than a full stripdown , clean and reseal would sort mine. on the positive side i rebilut mine about 2 years ago and they have been spot on since

standard jimny - for now

Some very fine wet and dry paper does the trick on the piston and sliders.
