i used to take the cats off my vitaras and the MOT fella said "if its not there he cant test it" that is the cat not the jeep

I think some people are getting confused with what the OP has done....................we have 2 "cats". 1 is imediatley after the exhaust manifold (in the engine bay), the other is under the car. I think the first one is more likely some sort of silencer, mine broke up and fell into the main cat under the car blocking it resulting in needed a new cat (under the car)! as for the one at the manifold I just smashed the rest of the honey comb out and refitted the manifold, so effectivly have a straight through manifold but still have the cat under the car.
I suspect this is what the OP has done, not a de cat under the car.
Definately sounds abit meatier.

Correct we just have the small cast manifold no cat there, just the one underneath the car.
Gold Jimny the best colour (sold)
Big red Jimny 32" tyres, arbs, cage 5:1 transfer etc. (Sold)
Grey pick up Jimny
Turbo m13a, arbs, floating rear shafts, disc conversion rear, vented front conversion. 245 70 16. Winch, 3" lift, 4:16 trans hd shafts and CVS
