Also check the prop shafts for movement/play at the UJ's and while under there check the vac hoses are still attached at the hubs then follow their route and look for obvious breakages.
Does it drive fine in RWD with no random noises?

Only concern is the rumbling when say in 3rd under 2k rpm which is deffo not from engine but a prop?
Also crunching 1st / reverse going down hill but fine on flat

Could be a uj causing the rumbling, never heard much said about them on here tho tbh. Quite a common problem on lifted LR's, changed one on my dads not so long ago was loads of play in it!! Grab the prop, there should be no sideways movement.
Might not be the problem im no expert, but you can check the things you can see yourself before paying a garage to investigate.
As for gear crunching downhill I have no idea.

I think crunching could be low oil maybe in either diff or gearbox maybe or even because clutch is coming to the end of its life or even cable stretched.... Pass

Id think low gearbox oil would mean crunching in all gears.

Right today I got a solid green light in 4 high unsure if it engaged though as I appeared to do a full donut lol
Could not get any light then not even flashing and again when 4l is selected you
Drive back a few yards and it bangs
When I move the selector it thumps, so could this be the mount?
With the weather I've not been under it to look but can only describe what I've done in the cabin!
