so if i wanted to run two led spots on a switch only do i need a relay or not as my mate said you dont need a relay ? anyone can clear this up be good

I don't think you need a relay:

because P = U X I

you leds ( 2 x 18 watt = 36 watt ?? ) = P
12 volt your voltage car = U
So your current consumption = 3 amp = I

For 3 amp, you don't need a relay.
Ofcorse you can also use one if you want......

I would use always relay when connecting extra light or something like that; when you make it with relays, you can be bretty sure that your switch wount melt or you dont burn your car cause of bad quality switches.. And its not that difficult to set up.

I dont want to open new topic, so i borrow this one little bit: :laugh:

Has anyone using 120w led bars (combo) in their cars as a extra driving lights? How they are working; is there enough light?
I`m thinking of butting one 120w led bar to my front bumber and use it with original high lihgts..
