Thank you all for your inputs!
Will see how low a cherry bomb muffler will sit. May not be practical during the rainy season on our flooded streets....
Looks like the only benefit to me would be to piss off my cranky neighbor with a noisy muffler. That by itself would make the change-over so worth it, hehe...

I'd love to fit one, but a quiet one, if it were practical preferably a side one!

i'm planning on a cherry bomb rear muffler but only so I can get is coming out straight at the back probably at chassis rail height so it is well out the way of any departure angle nasties.. as soon as the rest of the exhaust is dead it will be replaced by a stainless system from the downpipe back.. none of this is for performance but you never know

The ECU is mappable but it wouldn't be needed for an exhaust change, the feedback from the lambda sensor would be enough to correct the fuelling. Don't change to the 1.6 injectors on a stock engine it won't run right at all.

So when my 1.6 is fit after Christmas should I have it mapped to compensate also planning to decat the beast the environment can suck a fat one I want optimum performance lol

Which ECU do you have if its the one with the metal case then I've already done a lot of work on that ECU. I'm intending to change my 1.6 ECU for a remapped 1.3 ECU so I can fine tune it - the Jimny ECU can be remapped, the coil pack Baleno one can't but can be read.
The 1.3 has a very different torque curve, with a 1.6 engine you are relying on the fuel trims to compensate fuelling, any rapid changes in RPM or load mean that the fuelling will be out. The other issue is the timing for which the ECU cannot make any corrections.
