You want one that outputs live data so you can compare the RPM reading to the tacho


James, that code reader does do Live data. You can get it to display all sorts like temperature ect.

Well I did live data as suggested and the rev counter behaved! No problems. Think I may need to take it on a run, wait for it to play up then read codes and look at the live data.

We will see!

Not bad that ebay £20 code reader! It payed for itself when I sorted thiseldo's jimny, told me exactly which lambda sensor was faulty.
