Hi, where does the Jimny get it's signal for the rev counter from, I've just picked up a 55 plate vvt and the rev counter slowly climbs to Max over a period of time, it doesn't drop after a great change so add the revs up until maxed out. Odd one for you.

Though not an answer to your needs James I did have a rev counter years ago which did this and there was an electronics fault in the tacho head itself.

I think I'll try and get hold of some clocks and sensors and have a play. I do like a challenge but this jimny had loads of them!

The push button 4wd isn't working either and is stuck in 4hi.

We will see over the next few days.

Just about every Jimny has a 4WD problem, king pin bearings problem, hole in the rear floor and that's before we get to what reguar cars need doing like cambelts etc.

Did you find out what sends the signal to the tacho - years ago I'd have looked at the distributor.

I hate modern cars with CATS and God knows what.
