Cam sensor. Doesn't explain why it runs if you disconnect the MAP sensor but I'm sure there is a coll technical reason.

Hello
Did you replace all fuel from tank?
The old fuel (18 months) produces failures.
Try running the engine with the fuel tank cap removal (possible obstructed vent)
Replace the fuel filter. (the old fuel clogs the filter)
Cheers
Gustavo

Hi Gustavo, I didn't drain all the old fuel which was a mistake. I understood the fuel filter is actually part of the fuel pump and is in the tank. Is this right? It seems to have been the CAM sensor as I did the cold water test and it started right away. I've pulled the old sensor out and have ordered a new one from Ebay for AUD$61 delivered. It should be here on Tuesday and hopefully that will fix it. Cheers
