Has anyone actually changed their heater matrix? If so, whats involved, is there a step by step anywhere? I know it will be a tw*t of a job, but what's the minimum of dismantling?

Cheers!

I took my Jimny into Frankston Suzuki last year when the heater core sprung a leak. 2 days and $1500.00 later I got the car back. For a couple of months during winter I had the core locked off and by-passed but even that was a shit of a job, so hard to get too. While the heater wasn't working I used one of those 150w fan heaters that you plug into the cigarette lighter. Still get the use out of that device for quick defrosts. They are available in 150, 250 and 350 watts.

Its a days work. Dismantle dash board from the sides. Release all steering column nuts and bolts. Disconnect elecrical cables. Its not that difficult, patience and no rough handling.

Youll need help to remove and replace the dash board once its fully disconnected.
Take the seats out for sure to be free to move and work .
