Metal to metal adhesive or welding for the boot? was created by GuardianAngel
OK, so my boot floor needs patching up. I have done a temp job with Duck tape and zinc primer  , but that was just to get me through the last few months.
Long term I would love to get it welded, but I cant weld (but could be taught), don't have anywhere to weld it (I onlt have a drive way on an end of terrace) and I don't want to mess around with the fuel tank.
A garage would want about 400 notes to do the job; but I need to be a bit careful of cash.
I really need to make it water and weather proof before the summer is over and we head into winter (yes, the longest day is almost here  )
So, my question is, as the boot floor is non-load bearing (I don't have seats in the back), could I patch it with metal plates but using high strength metal adhesive, like EVO Stick 528 ?
Or is there something much stronger?

you just need to find the right welder
I'm lucky I've found a local mechanic (actually an ex nissan worker) who can weld, service, mod etc and only charges around £15 hr working from a home garage - the probs finding one :S
but £400 is silly, OK for Merc and Beema accountants I guess

Trouble is I'm in Surrey and everything is bloody expensive
I think it was the taking out of the fuel tank that pushed the price up, and the fact its been under sealed and they were worried about it catching fire, so claimed they needed someone to weld and someone to watch with a fire extinguisher.
