Jimny LPG conversions was created by Sam_
so who out there has had a conversion done?
Seeing as I spend about 35-40 on petrol a week and I want to keep the jimny long term this looks like quite a good way of getting running costs down a bit.
I used to have an LPG van and probably saved about 35-40% on fuel bills.
Seen some places that fit them for about £800 so I reckon it should pay for its self pretty quick.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

If you save 40% of your £40 thats £16 a week, so the payback time is 50 weeks, not bad, then you start saving £16 a week.
I've thought of LPG too, but the problem is where to put a tank big enough to run the car and still have the rear seats and somewhere to put the shopping.
I am also dubious of what LPG does to the engine. We had some LPG buses round here, designed for LPG, not converted. They disappeared after 2 years, as the engines kept failing........

Well i've been looking at places to put the tank, and I think it would take up the whole "boot" space.
But if you relocate the exhaust there looks like there could be a decent sized space to put one the tanks that are designed to fit in the spare wheel space also having a body lift helps freeing up more space.
Well the LPG transit I had for a about a year and it never missed a beat apart from on some colder days it was a little lumpy. But I think maybe the buses you talked about where the diesel LPG one's which are still pretty new so maybe early running problems?
Out in Thailand they run loads of cars on LPG and some don't even have petrol starting systems but then its a lot hotter out there!

i have lpg for one year and a half. with a 60lt tank.
A friend of mine has lpg at his jimny for 3 years now without any problems at the engine.
i have a 4.16 t-case and 31''s , and with 54lt lpg i get about 420 km of driving in highway.
It's more economik than gas. The lpg costs 0.88euros/lt , gas 1.85euros/lt.

No, i haven't notised any loss of power.
The whole thing in order to have a good working lpg system is the good programing of the extra map sensor.
