Hi Guys.
That's my write up on the top of page from when I dropped the G16B baleno engine in my Jimny. Martin asked if he could use it with my permission.
I can see that some are having problems getting the car to run properly. This will happen if you're running the original orange jimny injectors. When I popped the 1.6 in mine I kept it on the orange injectors to get it home and had all sorts of silliness on the 3 mile drive there including 3 different random ECU faults. In my defense it was late on easter sunday evening 4 years ago and we simply just wanted to get damned thing home, have a beer and go to bed.
After swapping the injectors for the Green ones from the 1.6 it was a totally different car that pulled like a train and made 5th gear useable at even 20 mph. On hills that with the 1.3 in you were in 4th the 1.6 pulled up in 5th happily. Fuel economy went UP from 30 mpg to 33 on the 22 mile extra urban round trip to work and back. You NEED the green injectors from the 1.6 engine. They flow more fuel through. This is a well known and documented fact from D&G tuning and various other independant suzuki places.
I believe the LATE G16B Esteem and Vitara ones are similar, however I made sure I bought the engine complete with injectors as I knew I'd need them.
Look at the injectors before buying from the scrappies. If they are the completely plastic shrouded GREEN ones like in the pic attached they will do the job (pic stolen from another post on the forum - Thanks jonplace.). If they are half metal half plastic don't waste your money. Thay are from an early model and simply will not fit and even if you make them fit they will not make the car run correctly.

Oh and as a footnote: Belzona is a chemical metal that we use in work that I aquired a little bit of to seal up the crank sensor hole. ;)

So you just used the intake manifold from the Jimny, and changed to Green Injectors from the 1.6 engine, and also kept the Jimny exhaust manifold?

This sounds like a pretty easy install to me :-)

100% Correct tom. Jimny Manifold, Jimny fuel rail, Jimny ECU. Simply put: everything Jimny except for the green injectors from the Baleno engine.
If you like I can take pics of my G16B installation. Just let me know what you'd like pics of.

Only if it's not too much trouble. I'm not gonna do an engine swap before later this year. But some pics of the installation in general are always welcome :-)
