If you change the belt try the things that it goes round to see if they're running free or have too much play in them. Off the top of my head I think it's just the alternator and water pump, and that another belt drives the viscous fan and power steering pump.

Belt tightened and squeal stopped, for now anyway

Belt looks good, no cracks and still dull not shiny on the drive vees

experiencing the same thing. alternator belt has been tightened already but still squeals like a pig when the alternator is under load (when headlights and A/C on).
