Correct radiator cap? was created by Mr Gringo
Howdy.
Just a quick question.
I have just bought a radiator pressure cap for my 99 jimny.
The radiator looks very original (so original that I will need a new one soon I think!)
The new cap supplied does not fit...... Basically the spring plunger part on the new cap is flat. Just one flat piece at the end about the size of a £2 coin, whereas the old one has a smaller extra rubber seal at the end the size of a penny ( or smaller)

Can anyone give me an idea what there's is like as I know the motor factors will insist that the one supplied is correct. I am only replacing it as the seal/gasket on the end of the old one is split and I think the old one has 3 seals in total?

(just a quick peek at their rad cap if its similar age to mine)

Thanks

Mines a 2001 with the M13A motor.
My cap is as below.
I don't know if it's the correct one, it's the one that's is fitted to mine though. ;)

Hope that helps

Keith :)

Hi,

I am trying to find a replacement radiator cap (0.9) with 3 seals for a 1999 Jimny (as per the image posted earlier in this thread). I have so far ordered 2 online that were meant to be compatible however neither fit correctly.

Is anyone able to provide details of where I could purchase the correct one?! I'm based in Sydney, Australia however happy to do international mail order if necessary.

Many thanks in advance!
Jamie

Yeah mate,
nick down to Supercheap Auto and ask for CPC Recovery Radiator Cap, part # 56090RD, Code # C004. This will set you back $10.65 and is the correct configuration and pressure relief for our Jimny model SN413 with G13BB engine.
