People in my town know that wipers at full speed in the dry and me looking enraged at the wheel means I'm gonna turn left.
In the summer when my windows are down they can hear me indicate too by shouting "For F*** sake" which anyone who's anyone knows means "Left turn Clide".
It's rule 999 in the Highway Code. Numbered accordingly due that number being dialed so often when this occurs.

I'm not sure that I would describe the oil-leaking, bakelite steering-wheeled, "brown-is-a-nice-colour," rusty upon delivery output of British Leyland as "proper cars!" Proper cars (i.e. anything made in the UK before 1980) always have the indicators on the correct side.

My Grand Vitara also has indicators on the correct side (right) as did my old 1994 Pajero. However I have a Shitroen Relay van for work and that is on the (left) WRONG side!!

I quite like having the indicator on the left..
It means you can change gear, smack the passenger or use the CB while indicating. Perfect !!
These Japs sure do think things through.
