Indicator/wiper stalk conversion was created by chrisp4u
Heya guys,
Probably a topic that has come up fairly regularly with jimnys, but can you get any sort of conversion kit so you can have the indicator stalk on the correct side?
Many thanks chris.

They are on the correct side.
It's everyone else's car that is wrong! Hence my wild windscreen wiper and indicator action whenever I drive my girlfriend's car

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Seconded.
The right hand stalk is the correct indicator for a right hand drive car.
We ended up stuck with the wrong stalk due to some Euro decision, and a desire for manufacturers to save money.
Our corsa has the indicators on the wrong side, and the wiper switch works the wrong way, (up=on, down = off)
Proper cars (i.e. anything made in the UK before 1980) always have the indicators on the correct side.

Remember that they change between Japanese and Spanish Jimnys.
I would hazard a guess that if you got a set from a Spanish Soft-Top Jimny you may be able to swap them over.

Thats interesting, perhaps I have been relaying a myth? It has been stated on a number of forums that the controls on Spanish soft-tops are the other way around and I have been happily telling people that as a "fact".
Perhaps soft-top owners would like to confirm/deny this, perhaps we will kill an Internet myth
