If a lower powered winch struggles you could use a snatch block - attach it to what you are winching/winching from and run the winch cable though it and back to the winch vehicle. IIRC it slows the speed (halves the speed??) but increases the pulling capacity (doubles it??)........... someone here will know............ah here you go double the capacity minus about 10%............

correct you are here a snatch block should always be handy if needed too
