Seems I have a bit of a ghost in my engine.
New spark plugs, pcv valve, coil packs, battery, oil, coolant.Charger good, vacuum good, charging system good, oil is clean, piston/valve leaks fine, only minimal smoke here and there on start ups.
Struggles to maintain idle under load often dipping to near stalling from things like aircon, lights or stereo, and can sort of feel it additionally at gear 4+ on open road lagging as well.
Seems to be when I last got some one that looked into it, it magically fixed it, so my guess is on possibly old vacuum lines. I am keen to hear if anyone else has had to deal with any simillar and the G13BB

How old, what sort of condition is the exhaust/catalytic converter in? They disintegrate with age and shock cooling from water crossings and the bits block the rest of the system especially if it has a second one under the passenger compartment. It tends to be more noticeable with more revs but it depends how bad it is blocked.

I am 100% with Lambert on the exhaust.
But if you still suspect vacuum (wich may only explain the idle problems) a dusting of starter fluid spray around the intake would reveal a leak. If you spray the leak the vacuum would pull in the starter fluid and the idle would rise.

138K km on ODO, seemed to have live a somewhat chill life in Japan, though light dust under the carpet, like it's been on gravel; Before being shipped to NZ 2022.
Seems to have a lot of original gaskets and parts, had starter repaired, and timing belt done on schedule.
I have not been driving it agressivly yet in NZ, as I ahve been slowly bring it back to spec, along with repairing it ready for rough 4wd'ing not just gravel cruising.
Seems to run really well when I brought it, but with time things have changed. It seems to be only under extra load the engine can not manage along with it's usually running, and may need a small amount extra gas to stable at g4+... on idle it dips low, and does it also does it when the window stops winding up, at idle
Still wish we knew what got magically got fixed on the last mechanic trip.

I have a G13BB and for a long time I was fighting a hesitation under load, iddle was fine, the way I manage to "fix" it was with a longer vacuum line between the MAP sensor and the intake
My issue with my engine is valve stem worn out, they pass a bit of oil steam into the intake blocking the MAP sensor with oil, so the longer vacuum line did the trick but after a few months still come back and after a quick clean it would go back to normal, so I installed an oil catch can and now it just runs fine
