They drive pretty well when the front end isn't completely clapped out, don't they!My Jimny is back on the road and wobble free.

Steering wobble is an issue on all solid axle 4x4s. Always has been, always will.
No idea how that has come to $1,300, but I'm pleased you've got it fixed.

That's for sure, when I drive it now every second word isn't spelt with four letters!

1300 bucks? For what, a new axle? Genuine parts at the main dealer? Seems very expensive.

$239 R CV joint and shaft (includes $37 postage)
$50 Grease/ silica sealant
$500 labour (Grandson rates)
The following is an interesting comparison:
All prices AUD
Tried to get local workshops to give quote but none of them wanted the job, Local Suzuki dealer considered the vehicle too old for them to work on (thanks Suzuki).

For future reference it's highly unlikely that you ever need the actual kingpins unless you have allowed it to go for a very long time without attention. Seals, bearings and shaft fair enough. Charging actual close family labour rates above zero, not in my world. Charging mates and civilians fair enough but not actual family
