I am wondering why I can't find other complaints about such noises. If it was common I would expect to see other people complaining about it in forums, and I just can't find

Yes it's just backlash combined with axle tramp. You can see the wheel hopping, which is causing the drivetrain to load and unload rapidly. It happens in almost every 4x4 in the same situation. I could replicate if for you in my Jimny if I didn't have a welded diff. I'm sure if you watch a few videos of cars getting cross axled you will see and hear the same.

I've actually never saw such a phenomenon and also pay attention how the steering wheel is ticking harshly as well. Is it really the design? seems like something is off

When I saw the clip, I thought it looked like the front wheel was jumping back and forth, so wondered if the noise could be a worn or loose leading arm bush?

You can hear this landrover make the same clicks at the 7 second mark.
In this video, also at the 7 second mark, you can see the wheel jumping back and forth as yours does.
In this video you can see a very similar situation and similar noises, although it's not as bad as the Pajero wheels have less freedom of movement due to IFS.
The steering wheel is moving as the left hand front wheel loads up and unloads. That is to be expected. Your axles are joined to the car by a series of soft rubber bushes, and your drivetrain has many connections, each of which has small amount of play in by design. The result is that the wheel is not held rigidly in position and drive is not constant. In certain situations it can and will oscillate within this range of movement. As it does so it will load and unload the steering and the drivetrain. As I said before it is very normal!

One more thing to check that may be giving you all the symptoms is a stuck or sticky brake caliper which is a thing on Jimny as they get older. One it would explain the lack of effort from the traction control as it would limit the system being able to overcome a wheel spinning and two it might explain the clicking as the system fires and is effectively hammering on the sticking brake. It would tye in with the frequency of the clicking. Certainly worth taking the wheels off and checking everything is free.
