Do you think prices will eventually drop to list or lower? I have the opportunity to get a used one now at £21,000 but it means taking a £4,000 loss on what we paid for our Land Rover Defender last year.
If we wait a year the Defender will be worth the same, or a bit more.
Some dealers are asking £30,000 for new Jimnys although l am not sure they will get it.
I wonder if the silliness will subside once all the new ones are sold.

“Only” £30,995 !!

Yes eventually, but when is anybody's guess. With every passing year they edge a little closer to yesterday's news and rot just a little more like every variation of Jimny before them.
Eventually we will stop selling petrol and they will be free to a good home.
Not a sound investment, but great fun now. If you want one get it, but don't pay 30K!!!!

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

It's a shame they've stuck the side protection rubbers on upside down

They are playing on the "rarity" value. However as shipments are going to continue this will hopefully reduce the profiteering as more come in at list price.

Shipments are continuing? I thought there were no more for the UK?

Although there’s talk of a commercial version next year. That’s how Land Rover got around emissions with the old Defender, they reclassified them as commercial vehicles.

Ask your dealer....I understand there has been a reversal of decision, UK shipments to continue (at a low rate and possibly with a new engine) as well as a commercial version.
