Hi,
I've just bought a new set of 16 inch wheels and was wondering if I need anything extra to mount a bigger spare with a 225 70 tyre. Will a 16 inch wheel and tyre go straight on?
I'm tempted to remove the spare and the bracket totally tbh as it looks pretty cool and the chances of a puncture on an AT tyre on mostly tarmac are super slim. Is this an easy job to do?
Thanks as always.

As always, this depends on how large the replacement set-up is.
For the Gen3 the aftermarket sellers offer an offset mounting plate, it is possible this is needed on the Gen4
I would try it and see.....

Thanks Martin. I also found a spare wheel spacer on jimny bits so that should sort it.

There is plenty space for a bigger tyre on the Gen 4. I have 235's on, and there is still room to spare. I reckon you could quite happily put a 31 on the back door without any issues.

Thanks saxj. I dropped I dealer an email and they said it will fit on without a spacer. I guess you haven't used a spacer and have just mounted a 235 straight on as a spare?

All,
16 inch wheels with 225/70 Toyo tyres fitted. No lift on standard suspension. I went for toyos because I feel the bfg tyres, as awesome as they are, might have added a lot of weight and bogged the car down.
Car looks imho great and drives better too. A bit more planted with less roll.
I am selling my sz4 wheels and tyres on eBay so let me know if you want them.
