I have exactly the same thing , a wire from the positive connection with a 15 amp fuse fitted in that connector. The wire then runs along the loom alongside the fog light part of the loom into the mass around the vacuum connector ....though I think this is just where it was secured .......don't know what it's for but my fog lights don't work but the bulbs have continuity , but no voltage at the bulb end of the loom.

Funny you should say that, my fog lights also do not work. I still have the problem of it not starting and a code reader cannot link to the ecu. Gonna have to send it away to get tested..........let's hope

Hi again, is there an interior fuse box on a 2003 Jimny, if so where is it?

In reference to this red aftermarket wire.....the fog light thing is a red herring I logically believe , it makes more sense to be a feed for an aftermarket radio, which would require a live feed for date / time display...15a is a touch overkill though......I say this because mind has a Kenwood jobbie fitted that updates the time date by a calander, so would need a low drain feed .

Hi Gaz, Many thanks for that.
Do you know if any of those fuses supply power to the ecu?
