What engine would anyone recommend to swap into a Jimny that is easiest to do, with less hassle? also I keep hearing these conversion kits come up are they what I need to do a certain engine swap?

I guess you are British so the brits in here will tell you what is available in the UK.
The kits will usually contain the adapter and the bolts needed. Also available is engine mounts but if you can do a bit of drilling and grinding you can make the original ones fit. The oil pick up will need welding done when you move the siphon over to fit the Jimny oil pan. Otherwise you should be OK depending on the donor. Service parts is also smart, and a fresh clutch.
Good luck, it is all worthwhile when it is done.

Just to verify I am in Australia, I am 16 and have just bought my first Jimny but realized it has a blown motor, rod through the block. Very frustrating. But anyway I know that there are two types of g16 motors. The g16a and the g16b, can anyone tell me the difference between the two.

I think a google search would drag that up for you. I know a lot of the Aussies have done the swap. Why not ask on the Facebook page 'Suzuki Jimny Owners Of Australia' - it has over 10k members and I know from browsing it in the past few days I have seen people talking about engine swaps.

ok, one more question just to confirm that I don't get anything wrong. A g16a or g16b engine of a similar era will fit into my Jimny with a conversion kit and some modification to the pickup and sump off the 1.3 . No messing around with the wiring, the 1.3 harnesses will plug straight into the g16 engine, inc the fuel rails. None of the ac, compressor, or alternator mounts/brackets will need modifications. Please correct me if I am wrong. I just want to get this right the first time. Thanks.
