Evening all, first time Jimny owner - first time post!

I’ve just bought a Jimny, it’s a 2009 in good nick and low mileage (about 50,000).. It was a bit of a steal so I’ve a little money to spend on it, it’s set up as a lamping vehicle and kitted out with off road tyres etc and I’m going to be using it on our shoot instead of a gator and although it’ll be going up muddy tracks and steep hills I probably don’t need to go down the route of lift kits and massive tyres just yet... I’ll be driving it on the road to and from our shoot as well as whilst pottering about to try and keep my usual car a bit tidier.

I’m going to change all of the oils and filters as per the maintenance guide on the wiki so I know they’re done. I’m also going to go over the chassis, clean it up and give it a good coat or two of rust reformer.

Is there anything else you would recommend doing as a sensible precaution whilst I’m in that kind of mood?! I guess I’ll be going about 3,000 miles a year with about half on the road.

Already learnt a lot from this forum, any pearls of wisdom will be gratefully received!

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for your reply, will sanding them back and a couple of coats of rust reformer be enough or would you advise something more substantial?

Probably the best money can buy
www.buzzweld.co.uk/

Start by looking at all body to chassis mounts
Fronts a hidden behind the inner arch cover
remove rear bumper
boot floor
behind and under headlights
the list is a long one do some research on here
Or ask plenty of questions ;)
