Sorry to keep adding things,

Could it be or is there a device that reads the key. Maybe that could be it as both the immobiliser and c/locking don’t work with the button now, also I only have one key

Yours is a lot older than mine but as I understand it the factory immobilizer has an induction loop round the ignition switch that reads the chip in the key, the door opening is a separate function controlled by the circuit board in the key. Bu you're describing the immobilization procedure on your car as being via a separate unit correct? Can you post a picture of the things involved in the usual start procedure it may offer further insights?

Problem solved, it was the immobiliser.
I ripped it out and bypassed it. All good

There you go then. Just don't forget to look into a further additional layer of security like a steering lock or such. Don't make it easy for the criminal classes.
