I just moved my jimny to the front of the house got out jumped back in and went to start it, it won’t start.

Now just to clarify, im in Australia and this is a 99 model 1.3. In Once you turn the ignition on you must press the button on the key then the dash lights come on and you can start the car. Now went I push the button nothing happens, also the door lock button does nothing when pushed. I immediately asumed the battery on the key was flat so I replaced it and the light on the key show when it’s push but still nothing. I then checked the c/lock fuse and it was all good.
I’m at a real loss, I understand the immobiliser and c/lock are connected but are at a loss as to what to go for next.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

Have you disconnected the battery and had a cup of tea to let any residual capacitance drain and then reconnected and tried it again?

Thanks tatertot,

Yes definitely power in the battery and yes it’s the immobiliser button. The key lock has stopped working too. I’d immediately blame the key button but the light on the key button comes on when you push the button and looks to be functional.

No, I disconnected it for 20 seconds and reconnected it. I’ll try it for 15mins this time.
