Customised winch bumper and roll cage
235/85R16 Maxxis Bighorns on 16" Rims, 4:1 Rocklobster, Rear ARB locker and on-board air
Corrected arms all-round, rear disks, Recaro seats and harnesses
It seems ok to me. A tad (around a second) slower than it was a couple of weeks back but pretty much averaging 5 seconds with the faster browsers recording just over 2 seconds (unless you are using Safari!)

However, I have switched the cache/session manager method from "database" to "file". This was because there seems to be an issue with the database version where user sessions are not flushed after 30 minutes. Instead they are retained open and the database has over 1Million user sessions open in it, this was bringing the site to its knees every few weeks.
I have switched to file based session caching, this is increasing file I/O on the disks and I think it is contributing to the slight increase in response times. You can see when I switched over.

Interestingly, those figures are average but individual pages differ in speed.
The forum landing page "Recent Topics" is the slowest, at around 11 secs. I think this is because it has to search ALL entries ever posted and put them in time order. As this is the main entry page for the forum it gives the impression on first landing or on using the "back" key from any topic you are reading, that the site is slow.
I will look further into how that page works

OK - managed to sneakily log in from work and its still running very slow - this is in a totally different area some 20 miles from home and on a completely different machine/network etc - (ie not my own laptop or anything!)
In answer to your questions Helijohn... (No question is ever a daft one in aviation circles!)
1) Yes there has been a MS update, but since that update, I reset everything to an earlier date and re-booted it this morning before leaving for work but it made no difference.
2) Yes tried logging into the forum without the bookmark (as I have done on the computer here at work just now) and still no difference.
3) Viruses - no viruses - this is something that I keep on top of very closely having been stung before. Additionally I run Ccleaner; Superantispyware; and Malwarebytes - nothing found.
4) Internet d'load/upload speeds are both fine too; my home machine is a fairly powerful thing I once used for serious online flight-sim "games". Additionally, I have reset the router but to no avail.
Could it just be my account?
The last time this happened Martin, you did do something, and it was instantly fixed. I haven't had a problem since then, until I logged in this morning.
As stated previously all other websites are running perfectly.
However I'm still at work using a slow old machine on a huge network. I'll see if anything has changed when I log in from home this evening and report back.
Cheers!

Daft questions coming up. In your list of etceteras:
Have you had an update from Microsoft recently?
Have you tried going to the forum other than by a bookmark?
Have you scanned for viruses.
Have you checked internet speed?
I often have to undo updates from Msoft cos they mess up my system horribly.
