I would take the head off and have a look. You can always then decide to repair or get a donor engine be it same or 1.8. Trouble is you will not know the history of the donor engine and even if you see and hear it running it is a big gamble. Remember to take into account,t if you fix the head leak, the skimming of the head , gasket set and new head bolts along with new oil and filter and coolant. But better the devil you know etc!

kSEAL ULTIMATE DID THE TRICK! in ten mins so we will see how long this lasts my m8t tells me he did his three year ago and still going strong worth a go at £20

Yes I love the stuff but plenty of folks don't. Main thing is it saves a head job and when I have used it I have never had any more problems after.

i never did any thing to it at all i was about to the next day tho but a m8t told me about kseal so i got some and put it inn that evening its been ok ever since

still going strong no problems and 857 miles done quiet a lot of that at 70mph as the trip was a total of five hours there and back
