Tried the screw method but not enough traction for the screw to grip.
Tried long nose pliers - no give, feels rock solid.
Stuck screwdriver and plier tips into existing hole. Think I’ve widened it slightly, that’s all!
No socket set to try that - will need to borrow one. Likewise the pipe pliers.

If its soft(ish) metal you could try and chisel it off with a sharp screwdriver and a hammer assuming that you can get to it easily enough - maybe try and get one side of it chiselled off and the rest will follow?

Really hard to tell to be honest, due to it being recessed.
