Spare Wheel Removal was created by psybear
I've read a few other posts here re this issue but none have helped me.

I can't figure out how to remove my spare wheel. There's what appears to be a nut (see pics) but with a small hole in it. Not much room around it and I haven't figured out how it comes off if it is actually a nut or just a cover.

Any suggestions welcome. :-)

Nope. Just standard bolts. And I've checked all nooks and crannies in the car for anything that might fit, no joy.

could be a cover on the bolt. It uses the wheelbrace to remove the nut. maybe you need to use a screwdriver to prize the cover off it to get to the nut?

Looks like a cover over the wheel nut and its been punctured in the past.
It will be soft tin like so give a poke with screw driver or put a bigger size socket in and just jiggle it off or screw a long screw in hole and yank it off.

Just grab with pipe pliers and pull to reveal the three pin security nut
