Towing capacity is one thing. The ability to it is something entirely different. I've been in a defender towing almost 3300 kgs. Not a lot of extra power to do with on steep hills and long uphill sections on highway.

It's just not very comparable.

Haha, i agree a tug of war isnt that usefull, other than to say whatever the ram can pull the defender with its much smaller everything can pull a lot more ! but not legally on the road, point being you dont need a huge monstrosity to pull something.. And im sure a amg g-wagon would pull the axles off that ram !
Im just not a fan of american vehicles, their bikes and cars suck... With one exeception, the tesla... now that is something else and the only car i really want badly.. nothing is as quick out of the box !

That's definitely fair enough! Personally I'm a fan of all 4x4s and while I'd rather have a Defender or G-Wagen over this RAM, I still think it's very cool.

How much is an AMG G wagen? Power isn't everything.. weight is also a big factor.

For the intended purpose.. there are not a lot of European vehicles that'll do the same.

How much as in money for a g-wagon? Far too much,in fact crazy too much even for a rusty shed, but power wise around 570bhp..
Weight is a factor until you add a fairly light unimog to the mix, then its unbeatable..
The yanks use huge diesel tractors/trucks to pull heavily laden sledges to see who can pull it the furthest, then if you watch what pulls the sledges back to the start - a little unimog !
I also agree there is nothing to compare to the yank tanks, but they are allowed to tow huge trailer whereas we use trucks for the same task.

Yes exactly.. An AMG cost something like 4-5 times as much as a 2500 us truck.
And when it comes to the tug of war you need the weight. How else would you transfer those 600 ponies to the road? Good tyres is only part of it.

New us turbo diesel trucks aren't exactly slow with 400+ bhp. And yes they're heavy.
