I agree entirely, it's a rare day that I really need a mechanic. I just have to emphasise the high stakes game that applying heat to a sealed container of flammable liquid is , that's all. Good luck with the job!

I gave it a go and unfortunately didn't have any success. For both I used plenty of WD40. With the drain plug I decided to try the chisel technique without using the blowtorch, but it just bit into it and didn't rotate. I tried the blowtorch on one of the panhard nuts and used all my strength from different angles but there was no movement at all. I'm glad I gave it a good try though! I'll take it to the mechanic once we get through this snowy patch.

I had the same problem with panhard bolts so I just cut them and put new ones in. Regular M10 if I remember.

I know it's no consolation to you but the panhard rod bolts are prone to "Galling" or cold welding. The vibration fuses the threads of the nut and bolt together. With them being metric fine threads they become all but impossible to undo
