There is a white nylon bush that fits at the bottom of the gear-lever ball.
Remove the 3 screws around the ring under the rubber boot.
This will give access to the lever and it will pull out . The area is full of grease and once the bush wears it can slip to one side, limiting movement of the lever.
It is really a 15 minute job , but just a get a new bush to fit they aren't much.

Do you know the part no. Had 2 different ones from suzuki but do not fit as are too big.
