Hi folk's looking at buying a jimny & would appreciate some advice
It's a 2000 on an w plate with 112,000 miles on the clock
1 Any engine probs with this milage
2 Rust besides the boot floor !
3 Anything else to look for & the biggie is it worth it with this mileage

Whether it's worth it probably depends on the price and what you intend on using it for.
1. Engine is probably pre M13A so belt driven not chain (worth considering if you need to change)
2. Boot floor panels can be had from jimnybits and are relatively inexpensive but obviously need welding in
3. Check for rusty sills, leaking seals, low/overspilled coolant and creamy rad cap (usual stuff really). Only other common fault I've come across is a squeeling drive belt - this can sometime be because the crank pulley is on the way out. Replacement part is approx. £150 OEM or £90 OE.

Rust is a real problem and there are plenty of places to check. The body to chassis mounts can rust as do the boot floors especially where they join to the rear wings behind the plastic wheel arches. Behind the headlamps and the front cross beam at the back of them under the wheel arches is another. Do a Search on the forum with RUST as the header for more.
