I've asked around here in North Notts. / South Yorks. and they have not been able to overwrite the Denso ECU in my 05'VVT.

That's included a few motorsports specialists, their opinion is to fit a piggyback ECU such as the ME221. An expensive option, probably close to £1100-1200 fitted and mapped on the rollers. Possibly three times that of a standard remap.

The standard inlet and exhaust on the 1.3 looks very restrictive even for 1300cc, it's got to impede the 1600.

The ecu can be read and written on bench, using K-tag. Probably other equipment as well.

HEY GILBURTON, so use the 1.6 injectors dont swap the jimnys 1.3 ones, i,m just thinking of doing this myself but doing as much homework on here before hand.
i take it you wont have the swift engine anymore? so would you say i could buy what they care a bare engine a swap all bits over ? whats a ball park figure for a pre 2010 engine from a swift, ive been told that dont get a post 2010 as it has a crank sensor and the ecu wont work? cheers for any pointers, ta Liam.
