the photo you up loaded appears to be from an automatic transmission ? You have the foot rest to left of photo.
i can understand carpet wear in the area you have a fix for.
In my case you see where the foot pedal rest is.....the carpet there has worn away and a hole has worn through, from my left foot constant changing gear etc.i do wear walking boots because of a toe issue.the carpet in the jimny is very thin especially on the floor.
i had a stereo up grade two year ago and while it was a professional up grade and requested not a" show " finish i did expect the carpet to be put back correctly. After my own inspection i have found it was never put back correctly and it moves a lot.
i am going to use a suggestion made by another chap on here and that is placing a piece of rubber matting under carpet, but i will build up the hole with that rubber plastic sealer it loks ,ike a thick piec of gum which you mold into shape and it hardens.and gaffer taped the carpet tight under the door sill kick plate. How do you up load photos.

Yes Kevin - as I understand it the edge of the sole of your shoe has worn away the carpet on the tunnel but the fix could be the same but not guaranteed - you take a piece of rubber mat the sort that is more like plastic than rubber but still flexible (or any strong material of your choice), and you glue it to the carpet. A lot of (automatic) vehicles have something like that to protect where the idle foot rests. You just need to position it on the tunnel to suit and protect.
Incidentally, a small reason I drive autos is that I have big feet and in smaller cars especially there is not enough room for my size 13s when there are three pedals.
