Carpet wearing. was created by kevinbarry18
How much does a new carpet for Jimny cost and where to buy.
the carpet on the transmission tunnel next to my clutch peddle has devolped a hole where my walking boots have worn it away when i change gears..has anyone encounted same and offer solution. I dont really wish to replace whole carpet for sake of a 3 inch circular hole which gets bigger each week..i only noticed at start of month as boot got stuck in hole and made me make a horrible gear crunch as peddle not depresed far enough..

Why not shave the carpet around the hole into a square shape and then glue a piece or rubber (car mat?) onto it so it's nice and tidy and somewhere to rest your boot...

It is a great idea.
Maybe Copydex.
Also a rubber car mat might possibly cover the damaged carpet well enough.

This thread spurred me into action. I had a heel hole right through to the metalwork. I put some dense foam in the hole then cut a piece of rubber mat to size, glued it in place with Copydex and viola.

You can still see the chalk marks I used to locate it all.
