I'm looking to get a CB in the Jimny, having nearly got lost while green laning with a local group. I know very little about CB's, so any help would be appreciated. Looking to spend less than £100 preferably. I have been suggested this one:
www.thunderpole.co.uk/mobile-cbs/midland-210-ds.html
. But I have found what I presume is a full kit for not much more money:
www.thunderpole.co.uk/cb-radio-packs/thu...off-roader-pack.html
. Anybody use either of these?
This is where I would like to mount it, under the ash tray, in front of the gearstick, so any pictures of what others have done would be helpful. Thanks!

That starter kit is fine for your green lane use. What mount are you looking at for the Jim?
I know they state that the aerials are pre-tuned but i would still check it with a SWR meter.

I have the Off roader Its really good easy to set up and it works lol. I got this instead of the starter pack as apparently it can take abuse more than the others. just make sure you read up on groundplane and earthing as this does have an effect.

The Thunderpole one will be fine for what you want. Get an SWR meter when you order it and do tune it by changing the length of the aerial as I had to cut over an inch off mine to tune it well. They say they are pre tuned but I have found otherwise!

Ground plane is the tricky part. Just depends what you are looking for performance wise!

Cheers chaps, helpful info. Probably going to get a 7" mag mount, that way I could remove the aerial if I needed to.
